Display is okay, responsive, and rugged enough to survive many falls from the bed, couch, etc. You will spend less time programming because the hard button assignments make more universal sense then programming the soft buttons. 1100 without RF is a pain because you need to keep the unit pointed to devices while pressing the soft buttons. It's a real pain espeically when trying to iron out the programming. 1100 RF module has to be plugged in to USB on computer to re-program. The RF is slightly more responsive and does not have to plug in to the computer to program it. The 1100 RF is really an old wireless mouse dongle design.
